Cookie Policy
Nothing is stored before you answer the cookie bar. The two items stored afterwards are named below.
The two keys
| Key | What it holds | How long |
|---|---|---|
10_charlottetown_age_ok | Your answer to the age question, which stops it being asked again on this device. | Until browsing data is cleared |
10_charlottetown_consent | Your accept or decline, which stops the bar returning. | Until browsing data is cleared |
Strictly speaking, both items are local storage, a different thing from cookies. They stay in your browser, no other site can read them, and neither carries an identifier.
Consent Mode v2
Four Google signals are set to denied in the head of every page, before any other script runs:
ad_storagead_user_dataad_personalizationanalytics_storage
Every page starts from refusal. Accepting changes all four to granted, and declining leaves them as they are.
What accepting would allow
No tag is present today. If one were added, Google Analytics 4 would write _ga and _ga_<id>, lasting two years, and a Google Ads tag would write _gcl_au, lasting ninety days.
Changing the answer
Cookie settings in the footer reopens the bar on any page.
Blocking it in the browser
Chrome and Edge under Privacy and security, Firefox under Privacy & Security, Safari under Settings then Privacy. If you block storage entirely, the age question comes back on every visit.
Not used here
- Social network pixels, and share buttons that would load one, are left out.
- Device and browser fingerprinting is left out.
- The only advertising network is the Google tag above, and it loads only with consent.
- Session recording and heatmaps are left out.
- Fonts and scripts are served from this site itself, with nothing loaded from another host at run time.
